Annual Working Mother Survey

Employee Caregivers Give High Marks to Certain Companies for Understanding and Accommodation

The provision of eldercare direction and services for employees is one of the top criteria in this year?s award of the ?100 Best Companies for Working Mothers? by Working Mother magazine.

The magazine found in its annual survey of employers that 98% of its top 100 companies offered eldercare resource and referral services. That compares with only 20% of the rest of the nation?s companies surveyed.

" Even these tough economic times haven't swayed the commitment of our forward-thinking 100 Best companies," said Working Mother Editor-in-Chief Jill Kirschenbaum. "In fact, the magazine finds that companies have increased benefits -- ranging from child-care programs to massages to take-home dinners straight from the company cafeteria -- in order to cut stress and keep employees healthy."
